Oval Water Tower – Visitors’ Center

The water tower is one of the first buildings constructed in the station in 1905. It is an oval tower, built with chiseled basalt stones. Two connected metal tanks at the top of the tower were filled with water from the Sea of Galilee. A pipe, with a hose at its end, extended from the water containers for refilling the locomotives’ water tanks. This is the only oval two-tank water tower in the Valley Railway stations. Today, the tower houses the visitors’ center of the historic Semakh compound, including various displays and a short illustration film in English and Hebrew.
